Playing fees are being collected by the bar Staff.

Three monthly playing fees  €175

Six monthly playing fees €275

Annual playing fees €400

These can be paid in either 2 installments €200 on 1st September and €200 on 1st December or

€100 on the 1st of September, 1st October, 1st November and 1st December.

Pay as you play will be €8 per session.

BENAVISTA BOWLING CLUB

is again launching their 2011/2012 season with an open day on Sunday, 2 October 2011 commencing at 11:00 a.m.

The day is designed for those who have never before bowled or have experience and are looking to join a Bowling Club in Spain.  Enthusiastic and experienced coaches will be on hand to provide help and instruction in lawn bowling free of charge – together with existing Members who will provide an overview of the social and bowling calendar for the forthcoming season.

The Management of the Club are providing refreshments for the day and will be on hand to introduce themselves to you and answer questions you may have.  All visitors will be made very welcome.

Benavista Bowls Club is situated at the centre of the Benavista complex.  The Club is behind the Los Arcos Bar on the N340 between San Pedro and Estepona at Km 167.

It is with deep regret we announce the death of

DAVID FINESTONE

Suddenly at  home on Sunday 29th August aged 72.

He was a gentleman, and a wit with a wicked sense of humour.

He will be sorely missed.

It is with deep regret we announce the death of

STEVE McMANUS

On Sunday 9^th May 2010 aged 63.

He was a well loved member and a great bowler not only representing the club but also Spain.

Our thoughts and deepest sympathy are with his wife Jan.

The funeral will take place on Friday 14th May 2010 at 11.00. Family flowers only.

An E.G.M. was held at Benavista Country Club on Thursday 12th November 2009, to decide if Benavista Bowls Club should remain a fully Federated Club.

After presentations by both sides and questions from the floor a vote was held and the results were as follows

Those in favour of staying  block federated 12

Those against 43.

We have therefore refunded all monies collected for the 2010 membership to those members who do not wish to join the Federation. Individual membership fees are €26 per year. Those members wishing to Federate please let either Russell Roper or Doreen Fabron know by the 25th November and pay the extra €5.

AFTER PAYING EITHER THE ANNUAL PLAYING FEE OR THE 6 MONTHLY PLAYING FEE, THE ONLY OTHER  TIMES YOU WILL ASKED TO PAY ARE FOR AWAY LEAGUE MATCHES AND OPEN COMPETITIONS PLAYED ON BENEVISTA GREENS.

The New Siddalls Super 8 Competition starts on Thursday 5th February at 2 pm. It runs on most Thursdays over 8 weeks and a prize of €100 will be awarded to the winners of each weeks competition. It will consist of a round robin of 2 woods pairs over 7 ends. At the end of 8 weeks there will be a final in which the winners of each week will compete for the first prize of €500. The runners up will receive €250. All other players will get a Cortes Ingles voucher for €25. Contact Russell Roper for details.

The Benavista Classic sponsored by Langtons Financial Services was held from the 3rd-11th November and the weather held all week enabling our Competition Secretary Russell Roper to complete all the matches on schedule. (more…)
