An E.G.M. was held at Benavista Country Club on Thursday 12th November 2009, to decide if Benavista Bowls Club should remain a fully Federated Club.

After presentations by both sides and questions from the floor a vote was held and the results were as follows

Those in favour of staying  block federated 12

Those against 43.

We have therefore refunded all monies collected for the 2010 membership to those members who do not wish to join the Federation. Individual membership fees are €26 per year. Those members wishing to Federate please let either Russell Roper or Doreen Fabron know by the 25th November and pay the extra €5.

THE ANNUAL SUBSCRIPTIONS ARE DUE ON 1ST SEPTEMBER 2009.

6 MONTHLY PLAYING FEE 1st OCTOBER 2009 – 31st MARCH 2010 €275. UPON PAYMENT OF THE 6 MONTHLY PLAYING FEE YOU WILL RECEIVE A VOUCHER FOR €20 WHICH MAY BE SPENT ON FOOD AND DRINK IN THE CLUB HOUSE.

AFTER PAYING EITHER THE ANNUAL PLAYING FEE OR THE 6 MONTHLY PLAYING FEE, THE ONLY OTHER  TIMES YOU WILL ASKED TO PAY ARE FOR AWAY LEAGUE MATCHES AND OPEN COMPETITIONS PLAYED ON BENEVISTA GREENS.

The New Siddalls Super 8 Competition starts on Thursday 5th February at 2 pm. It runs on most Thursdays over 8 weeks and a prize of €100 will be awarded to the winners of each weeks competition. It will consist of a round robin of 2 woods pairs over 7 ends. At the end of 8 weeks there will be a final in which the winners of each week will compete for the first prize of €500. The runners up will receive €250. All other players will get a Cortes Ingles voucher for €25. Contact Russell Roper for details.

The Benavista Classic sponsored by Langtons Financial Services was held from the 3rd-11th November and the weather held all week enabling our Competition Secretary Russell Roper to complete all the matches on schedule. (more…)
